Romans 1:25
“because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.”
An idol does not have to be a statue. Approval, comfort, success, and control become idols when we ask them to provide the security and identity that belong in God. His good gifts are meant to be received with gratitude, not burdened with the task of being our savior.
